This past summer, I won a $25 gift cert for a floral arrangement at a Nordonia Hills Chamber of Commerce Event. Petal Place florist in Northfield had donated the certificate. In September I decided to use the gift certificate for my Mom (who turned 86). Leslie Johnson, owner of Petal Place, created a beautiful autumnal arrangement that was beautiful.! My mom loved it!This was a great way for me to “test drive” Leslie’s handy work.
In October, the choir in which I belong, needed something special for our director, who had a death in her family. We were looking for something special. So I called Leslie and ordered a fruit basket. She did a fabulous job, once again, and I plan on giving her more work in the future.
What I like about this experience, is that Leslie, used other businesses in town to fill the basket. So the simple task of ordering a basket, actually sent ripples of business throughout the business community. You do not get that from a toll free number!

When you shop local, you invest in your community, in your neighbors, and in yourselves. In this economic climate, the best return on investment is in local business. It is estimated that for every dollar you spend, twice as much will be reinvested in the community by a local store than a national store.
